Magatte Wade, the founder and CEO, founded the company after studying with a traditional healer from her native Senegal. She wanted to bring the best of her cultural traditions from Senegal to women around the world. Magatte is a Forbes “20 Youngest Power Women in Africa” and "Leading Woman in Wellness” award winner by the Global Spa & Wellness Summit. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Whole Planet Foundation, of Whole Foods Market.
Magatte says that in her native Senegal, there is a ritual for all babies. For the first 45 days, a grandmother gives her a daily full-body massage.
